Eleta is a respected, diversified and family-owned investment group that has been operating in Panama for over 60 years. We predominantly invest across five main verticals: energy, real estate, tourism, telecom & media, agribusiness and recently branching out into technology and ventures. We feel a deep sense of pride for what we do. In addition to delivering superior risk-adjusted returns to our shareholders, we are also committed to positively impacting our society, leaving our country a better place for future generations.
Eleta was founded in 1964 by Don Fernando Eleta Almarán (1921-2011), a renowned Panamanian businessman, engineer, financier, philanthropist, and public servant. Mr. Eleta pioneered the first and biggest media and telecommunications company (RPC Radio, Television, Cable and Digital) in Panama. He later founded additional companies, including Air Panama, the country’s first airline, Aseguradora Mundial, and Café Eleta, among others. He was also the founder of various civic associations and institutions, including the Panamanian Association of Company Executives (“APEDE” for its abbreviation in Spanish) and the National Association for the Conservation of Nature (“ANCON” for its abbreviation in Spanish).

In the year 2000, a fresh era of leadership in the family business began under the guidance of the new CEO, Guillermo Saint Malo. Thanks to his dynamic leadership, the group’s energy division flourished with international investments that led to the evolution of EISA, now a cornerstone of the nation’s grid for operating the most proficient hydroelectric power plants. Additionally, we capitalized on our investments to establish one of the most expansive solar energy fields within the national grid.
Meanwhile, the group extended its footprint in the Luxury Real Estate sector, creating successful partnerships for the development of Pearl Island, Panamá’s premier island luxury venture.
On the coffee front, we unified our efforts through the acquisition of Café Unido and made substantial investments in Ninety Plus Coffee, both of which have been recognized as the best in the industry.
